Challenge yourself in 2023 with London to Paris cycle

As the modern-day saying goes, “New Year, New Me”, but sometimes you have to challenge yourself for the “new me” part to be really effective. Don’t think of this in terms of typical New Year resolutions that invariably fail within a few weeks. Think about how you could really challenge yourself in 2023!

What do you think of a London to Paris bike ride in this sense? Don’t panic – read on! It’s probably a far more realistic and enjoyable challenge than you might realise.

Cycling from London to Paris can be one of the most exhilarating experiences you can ever experience if you give yourself a chance for a new adventure. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime challenge that exposes you not only to breathtaking landscapes but also to new friendships.

Most importantly, you don’t have to be a pro rider to register and don’t have to do this alone – take your family and friends and embark on what’s going to be the ultimate riding adventure.

Find out more about this potential 2023 challenge:

About the ride

This four-day challenge starts Wednesday, 19, and ends Sunday, 23 July 2023, covering 300 miles of fantastic countryside. Once you leave London, you’re going to pass through picturesque Kent and then cross the Channel to Calais. You’ll be transported to the small peaceful villages of Northern France and cycle through mediaeval towns. The French countryside will welcome you with wooded valleys and tranquil hamlets from where you wish you’d never leave.

On day four, you’ll pedal into Paris where reaching the Eiffel Tower, standing as proud as ever, will convey such a great sense of personal achievement. The climax of the ride is naturally the finish line you’ll reach, peddling en masse around the iconic Arc de Triomphe and down the luxurious Champs-Élysées. Your sense of achievement is completed by the cheers of the tourists and locals who would be there to support you.

The French capital is also set up for the grand finale of the Tour de France, so you’ll soak up the celebration atmosphere of the world’s greatest riding race. In fact, you reach Paris a day ahead of the big event. And since you’re in France, the spiritual home of road cycling or, if you prefer, the City of Love, it’d be a pity not to enjoy all this wonderful capital city has to offer.

Costs

The fundraising target of this event is £1,750, and the self-funded payment is £1,650, so you have two options to fund your place on this trip: sponsorship and self-funding. Regardless of your choice, you’re required to pay a registration fee of £139.

This fundraising challenge aims to help support life-changing research across England and improve the lives of vulnerable and sick children.

The London to Paris cycle itinerary includes the cities of London, Dover, Calais, Arras, Compiègne, and Paris.

What’s included

Apart from the mesmerising sights, this cycling race gives you a chance to collaborate with real professionals who’ll be by your side from beginning to end. As for your safety, mechanics will be there to fix punctures if something happens to your bike. And as below, there’s much more support included:

  • Marked route
  • Food, including a celebration meal in the French capital
  • Route information, GPX files, and maps
  • Full vehicle support
  • Hotel accommodation
  • Luggage transfer from hotel to hotel
  • Eurostar and ferry transport

Isn’t this event on your bucket list yet? Ensure you sign up ASAP and embark on a memorable journey to both ensure better lives among children and challenge yourself in this new year.
